The MAR-test is a test that aims to detect the presence of antisperm antibodies of IgG classes in semen to diagnose the immunological causes of male infertility. Antibodies to sperm antigens can cause immunological infertility in men. According to the recommendation of the World Health Organization, this test is done only with the evaluation of the general spermogram, which includes the determination of the main indicators of semen and spermatozoa. How to Prepare for the Test
• No ejaculation for 3-5 days, no sexual intercourse 3-5 days
• No alcohol for 3-7 days
• Exclude the sauna and heat for 3-5 days and , do not perform the test while having a fever
• Collect the entire specimen
• In case of taking medication, inform the doctor
• Avoid the use of antibiotics for at least a week
• If collected outside, deliver to the laboratory in the right temperature(the sterile container should be wrapped in a wool cloth) it is reccomended to collect the specimen in the laboratory.
Implementation Timeline
The test is accepted at the Kochar branch on Tuesdays and Fridays until 13:00, on Saturdays 8:00-10:00, the result is the same day at 17:30.
