Description
A spermogram is the main diagnostic test for suspected diseases of the male reproductive system affecting fertility. The main purpose of the test is to evaluate the quality of the sperm and determine the viability of the male reproductive cells, as well as their ability to fertilize an egg.
Physical microscopic (semen volume, viscosity, color, smell, acidity) and microscopic (morphology, concentration, quantity, viability and mobility of spermatozoa, presence and concentration of leukocytes, presence of erythrocytes) indicators are evaluated within the examination.

How to Prepare for the Test
• No ejaculation for 3-5 days, no sexual intercourse for 3-5 days
• No alcohol for 3-7 days
• Exclude the sauna and heat for 3-5 days and do not perform the test while having a fever
• Collect the entire specimen
• In case of taking medication, inform the doctor
• Avoid the use of antibiotics for at least for a week
• If collected outside, deliver to the laboratory in the right temperature(the sterile container should be wrapped in a wool cloth) it is reccomended to collect the specimen in the laboratory.
Implementation Timeline
If the test is taken at the Kochar branch Monday-Friday 08:00-14:00, the results will be given the same day at 17:30. Saturday: 08:00-10:00, the result: after 13:00 by e-mail until 00:00 of the same day.
